Whitelands Academy - Year 6 to 7 Transition
We are delighted that you have chosen to join Whitelands Academy and cannot wait to welcome our new year 7 cohort in September.
At Whitelands Academy we recognise that the transition between primary school and secondary school is an exciting and sometimes daunting experience for both parents and students. In order to ensure a smooth transition between schools we have developed a thorough and comprehensive transition programme that works closely with the primary schools.
Throughout the transition period we will be visiting each primary school to meet our new students prior to September and providing a transition day at Whitelands Academy in July.Our transition day will welcome our students to the school where they will be able to become more familiar with our school site, be introduced to our staff, experience our curriculum, and have the opportunity to meet each other.
We will also be hosting a new parent information evening where we will provide key information regarding uniform, school policies and school expectations as well as answering any questions.
Nonetheless, we are aware there may be some questions you are already thinking about and therefore have provided a wealth of important and useful information on our school website. Please take the opportunity to look around and again, we look forward to welcoming you to Whitelands Academy in September.
